What is Myanmar Art & Craft Association (MACA)

It is a unified group of entrepreneurs, professionals and amateurs who produce or sell handicrafts based on their own indigenous cultures respectively where the Union-born ethnic nationalities live. Consequently to preserve the culture and handicrafts of these, 135 ethnic nation group. And how it’s through that to advance the value products as well as get more market share.

Now a day. Myanmar Craft has emerged as a neighboring country to join the Asian Craft, as well as purpose to provide Myanmar handicrafts to World Craft. Through this, the Myanmar Handicraft Association was established in 2015, Registration No118615751, with 6 founders.

The Purpose of MACA aims to accelerate the production and sale of handicrafts to attract international tourists as well as to raise funds for the state consequently penetrate foreign markets by having them exhibit and sell at international exhibitions. Besides, Organize sales of Myanmar handicrafts and organize "exhibitions" by the association to increase sales in the domestic market. Moreover, help to all MACA members to solve the problems related to their work and facing strive needs. It aims to stand proudly as a state-recognized organization.

Type of MACA’s Handicrafts

Objective

  • To promote and preserve Myanmar's traditional handicrafts and cultural heritage, while enhancing their value and quality, and to introduce Myanmar handicraft products to domestic and international markets.
  • To develop the handicraft sector by improving the skills and knowledge of artisans, encouraging creativity and innovation, and promoting cooperation among relevant organizations, entrepreneurs and craftsmen.
  • To improve the quality and standards of Myanmar handicraft products so that they can meet international market requirements, expand international trade opportunities, and contribute to the development of the national economy.
  • To support and encourage local artisans and handicraft producers, create greater market opportunities, and promote the production and sale of high-quality traditional handicrafts.
  • To preserve traditional Myanmar artistic techniques and cultural values while developing them in ways that are suitable for modern markets and future generations.
  • To promote Myanmar handicrafts internationally and strengthen cooperation and friendship with international organizations and people through cultural and artistic exchange.
